Exec: VK’s growing popularity complicates content moderation
MOSCOW, Apr 25 (PRIME) -- The growing popularity of Russian social network VKontakte and the volumes of posted content that rose by hundreds times have added pressure to the moderation service, Technical Director Vladimir Gabriyelyan said in Monday at a forum.
“Loading on the moderation service has rocketed by hundreds times, from the point of view that the more content is created, the more content is posted, the more intensively the employees work,” Gabriyelyan said.
He added that artificial intelligence helps lessen the load on the VKontakte developers, but the human being decides on the ethic part of the content.
VKontakte has become the key platform for the users after blocking of the foreign social networks.
“We see that popularity of our social networks has increased over the period. Small and medium-sized businesses have started migrating to the Russian platforms,” the executive said.
